Support Engineer 1 — 132 kV SWGR

Duration: Approximately 9 months, extendable by mutual agreement

We are deploying a Support Engineer 1. This role assists with 132 kV switchgear testing and commissioning. We coordinate with OEMs and support the approved SWGR engineer on a new GIS substation project.

Key Requirements

Prior testing and commissioning experience on high-voltage substations.
Substation testing experience with exposure to GIS OEM coordination.
Familiarity with SCMS / SCADA signal simulation.
Competence with standard, locally-calibrated test instruments (Omicron, Megger, Phoenix and equivalent).
Working knowledge of substation protection, control, interlocking and SCADA/SCMS principles appropriate to the role.
Sound command of English, both written and spoken, including ability to prepare and close out test documentation to client format.
Commitment to HSE discipline and safe systems of work, including familiarity with permit-to-work and method-statement / risk-assessment practice.

Required Tickets & Certifications

TAQA approval for the relevant discipline, or clear eligibility and readiness to obtain TAQA approval prior to mobilisation.
Degree or diploma in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
Valid passport with adequate validity.
Medically fit for site deployment in the Western Region climate.
Willing and available to mobilise on or about 1 December 2026 for the project duration.
