We are seeking an elite 132 kV GIS Commissioning Engineer to join our specialist deployment team for a critical substation project in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This pivotal assignment focuses on the rigorous pre-commissioning and commissioning of 132 kV Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) and associated local control cubicles, ensuring the highest standards of system integrity and operational readiness for a vital piece of the region's energy infrastructure. This is a high-impact opportunity for a seasoned HV commissioning specialist to apply their expertise on a flagship project, contributing directly to the stability and growth of the UAE's power grid.

Key Requirements

Verifiable hands-on 132 kV GIS commissioning experience on high-voltage substation projects.
Proven competence in SF6 handling practices and safety protocols.
Experience with primary injection and HV testing coordination.
Competence with standard, locally-calibrated test instruments (e.g., Omicron, Megger, Phoenix, and equivalent).
Working knowledge of substation protection, control, interlocking, and SCADA/SCMS principles appropriate to the role.
Sound command of English, both written and spoken, with the ability to prepare and close out test documentation to client format.
Demonstrable commitment to HSE discipline and safe systems of work, with familiarity with permit-to-work and method-statement/risk-assessment practice.

Required Tickets & Certifications

TAQA approval for the relevant discipline, or clear eligibility and readiness to obtain TAQA approval prior to mobilisation.
Degree or diploma in Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
Valid passport with adequate validity for international travel.
Medically fit for site deployment in the Western Region climate of Abu Dhabi.
